When someone experiences a sudden cardiac arrest, every second matters. Immediate CPR and the rapid use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) can dramatically increase the chances of survival. PulsePoint AED is a community registry of publicly accessible AEDs that helps emergency dispatchers identify nearby devices during a cardiac emergency, allowing callers to be directed to lifesaving equipment when it’s needed most.

The Cary Fire Protection District is proud to support the PulsePoint AED program as part of our commitment to improving cardiac arrest survival in our community. If your business, school, church, or organization has a publicly accessible AED, registering it helps strengthen Cary’s chain of survival and gives emergency dispatchers another tool to connect callers with lifesaving equipment when every second counts.

Register an AED

If your business, school, church, or organization has a publicly accessible automated external defibrillator (AED), we encourage you to register it with PulsePoint AED. A complete and accurate registry helps emergency dispatchers identify nearby devices and direct callers to lifesaving equipment during a cardiac emergency. Registration is free, takes only a few minutes, and could make a lifesaving difference in our community.

Help Strengthen Cary's AED Registry

An accurate AED registry saves valuable time during an emergency. Community members can help by registering newly installed AEDs or reporting changes to existing devices, such as relocations or accessibility updates. Working together, we can build a reliable resource that strengthens emergency response throughout the Cary Fire Protection District.

Be Prepared Before an Emergency

Cardiac emergencies happen without warning. If your organization has an AED, make sure employees or volunteers know where it is located and that it remains accessible during normal operating hours. Regularly inspect your AED according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and keep your PulsePoint AED registration up to date if the device is relocated or its accessibility changes. Preparing today can help ensure lifesaving equipment is ready when it is needed most.
