| Cadet Program |
| This is a program for high school students interested in the fire or emergency medical service career fields. Cadets are allowed to train with firefighters and ride along as observers on incidents. This is an on-going program throughout the year. Cadets meet on the first Thursday of the month and can attend all department trainings. |

| Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery |
| This program is aimed at all residents to remind them to change their smoke detector batteries. This is done twice a year to correlate with the time changes in the spring and fall. |

| CPR Classes for the Public |
| Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Classes for the public are offered on the first Wednesday of every month from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. The American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver Program is taught. This class teaches rescue techniques in adult CPR, Automatic External Defibrillation (AED), and choking. The course takes 3 - 4 hours to complete. There is a twenty dollar ($20) fee for this class. Pre-registration is required in person or by phone with the department's business office. There is also a five (5) student minimum and nine (9) student maximum for the class. The business office is located at the headquarters station is open Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. |

| CPR Re-certification for Healthcare Providers |
For Healthcare Providers, CFPD only instructs the practical skills testing for re-certification. To use this option you must already be certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) in Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider CPR. There are two (2) sections that a student must complete for re-certification. The first section is an on-line classroom session. This is on-line at: www.americanheart.org. Select the CPR & ECC link. Then select the BLS on-line Renewal course link. After completing the on-line classroom session you will be able to print out a proof of completion letter. Once you have this letter you can schedule to do the practical skills testing session at CFPD. Once you have passed both sections of the course, you will be issued an AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card. The fee for the practical testing session is ten ($10) dollars. There is also a cost by the AHA for the on-line portion. EMS Lock Boxes |
| This program is for residents who have any type of condition that would prevent them from answering their door. A locked metal box is installed on the house of the resident with their house keys placed in it. If an emergency occurs, firefighters are able to access the house keys and make entry into the residence without having to cause any damage. |

| Fire Inspections |
| The fire prevention bureau completes fire inspections on all businesses, commercial structures, churches, and schools in the district annually. In addition, home fire inspections are conducted at the request of any resident. |

| Fire Safety House |
| This program is aimed at elementary school age children to teach them important points of fire safety and prevention. Within the basement of headquarters station a smoke house was built which allows children the opportunity to practice escaping from a simulated house fire. This class takes 1-1 1/2 hours to complete. |
